SBCC ACTIVITIES TO COMBAT MALARIA IN MULEBA DISTRICT (TARGETING 40 VILLAGES OF PAMVERC STUDY AREA)

Muleba District is one of the eight districts of Kagera Region of Tanzania. Muleba district is bordered
to the north by the Bukoba Urban and Bukoba Rural Districts, to the south by the Biharamulo District,
to the east by Lake Victoria and to the west by the Ngara and Karagwe Districts.


There has been malaria outbreak in Muleba district. In June 2016 malaria prevalence started to shoot
and according to the District Malaria Focal Person (DMFP) Muleba district malaria prevalence
reached 25% from 12% in Dec 2016.
According to PAMVERC malaria prevalence to youth of age 0 to 15 years old in the study area was
54% up to Dec. 2016
